RELEASE NOTES

What’s new
in AngleSelect.

New features, smoother playback, and the fixes that make editing easier. Here’s what changed in AngleSelect, starting with version 1.0.

  • Playback can recover when seeking stalls. Moving through the timeline keeps your latest position without repeatedly interrupting a seek that is still working.
  • If an export may exceed the available disk space, you can review the warning and choose Export Anyway. The warning remains available if you switch away from AngleSelect.
  • Improved handling of restored sessions, media timing and project saves, with clearer checks before an export begins.
  • Help > Release Notes opens the version history. Future update prompts include a short summary of what changed.
  • If you return to Mac 1.0.2 after using this update with no video open, remembered framing and output choices may reset. Your source videos and saved projects are unaffected.
Older Mac releases
  • Settings adjusts to each section, including Privacy, so the text and reset and uninstall buttons are easier to find.
  • Fresh windows open larger and centered. Remembered window sizes are kept, and resizing an empty workspace no longer cuts off its title, toolbar or export controls.
  • Simplified the Help menu, with direct access to contact and debug reports.
  • New Premiere projects keep the original audio continuous while you switch camera angles.
  • Help > Save Debug Report creates a small text file you can review and attach to the contact form. Saving it does not send it, and it does not include your footage or filenames.
  • Adjusted how video exports share processing power to leave more room for your other apps. Export quality and source audio are unchanged.
  • Create three or four fixed views from a stitched 360° MP4 or MOV, then save a multicamera project for Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro.
  • Export selected views as high-quality MOV files with source audio attached. The app automatically detects source bit depth and supported HDR formats, and shows estimated sizes before export.
  • Fresh installs start with four angles, landscape 16:9, 4K and a two-by-two preview layout. Existing saved choices are kept.
  • Preview playback recovers from delays while keeping resource use bounded. A quiet notice appears if the preview repeatedly falls behind; export quality is unchanged.
  • Sleeping or locking the PC pauses playback. After waking and signing in, press Play to continue.
  • Improved handling of media timing, saved settings and project saves. Export warnings help protect existing files and let you continue when the estimated space requirement may be too high.
  • A verified update remains available even if AngleSelect cannot save when it last checked. Update prompts can show a short summary of changes.
  • The bundled video tools take less space while retaining the tools needed for previews and exports. Uninstall also removes the default publisher folder when it is empty, without removing other products or custom parent folders.
  • Help > Release Notes opens the version history. Existing Windows security warnings about an unsigned installer may still appear.
Older Windows releases
  • Smoother previews on compatible computers by using the graphics card to play your video. Software playback is available if that cannot start.
  • New Premiere projects keep the original audio continuous while you switch camera angles.
  • Improved recognition of installed GoPro Reframe plugins. Check Again now shows the result of each check; you can confirm the plugin is ready in Premiere’s Effects panel.
  • Help > Save Debug Report creates a small text file you can review and attach to the contact form. Saving it does not send it, and it does not include your footage or filenames.
